MommaBaby Yoga

What is the purpose of MommaBaby Yoga?

MommaBaby Yoga, builds not only a mother-child relationship, it is a great method of combining self-care of a mom, together with the needs of her child, keeping both in the pink of health. Baby engagement exercises are integrated to gently stimulate the baby’s body, basic motor skills and vision. In this intimate and soothing setting, the children are embraced. With both needs indulged, a deep bond is built.
1.    WORD: Self care
Mothers not only have care for themselves prenatal, but postnatal too! As a mom, one of the biggest challenges is carving out time for self-care.  Between work and family commitments, getting out of the house to go to yoga class can be difficult. At MommaBaby Yoga, it is the “best of both worlds’ to a mommy- paving her way back to fitness and being able to bring the baby to class.

2.    Recuperate+Strengthen+Tone the right way
We address Mommy’s needs and healing, providing her with a good and tailored workout while including her baby.  It consist of specific modifications and focus for the mother (such as restoring core alignment, pelvic floor, abdominal and core exercises), to help her gradually return to physical strength. It nourishes mommy’s body and mind with much needed calm and balance.

3.    Finding your community
As moms come together, an amazing support system is built- to know that they are not alone when challenges or expectations strike. Especially as a brand new mom, support plays a crucial role, both physiologically and physically. Moreover, having a safe space where your child can be a child while you receive support is a blessing! At the end of class, instead of being exhausted and anxious, a mom is able to find her balance and clarity of mind. In turn, she is able to provide a calmer and more cheerful environment for her baby to grow and love. Together, we are equipped to get going!

What are the benefits of MommaBaby Yoga to my child?

Physical Benefits
In just a short session, your baby receives the same amount of physical activity that otherwise would require a few hours.

Developmental Benefits
Your baby’s entire body systems (including the digestive and nervous systems) of the baby will be stimulated. Such stimulation aids in development of the brain and nervous system.

Psychological Benefits
It is the ability both to attach and then separate is achieved because the baby is involved but is not the absolute focus of the mother’s activity. Within this communication, the baby has room to develop both connection and independence. You and your baby get to know each other more through effective communication as well as non-verbal communication. It is through active interaction that builds the foundation for social relations over the early years and beyond.
